A good pair of jeans is essential in any closet. Jeans can be suitable for different occasions: with a T-shirt and sneakers for a walk, but just as well with slingbacks and a blazer for work. Finding good jeans for your body is not always easy. The message here is: try on enough jeans!
Here are some things to consider when buying jeans:
1. Think about where and when you want to wear the jeans, so you can choose the proper washing and fit (more relaxed or more fitted).
2. Choose the right size. Make sure your jeans aren't too tight, but also don't need to be held up with a belt. Good jeans fit nicely. Remember that real jeans (no stretch) often tighten at first, but still expand as you wear them. Keep that in mind when choosing your size.
3. Also pay attention to the length of your jeans. Choose jeans that reach over your ankles, and make sure they fit you when you wear flats or sneakers, or when you wear heels. If you want your look to be more "badass", you can fold the hem of your pants. Flared jeans with a high waist create long lines, making your legs appear longer. If you have a shorter upper body and longer legs, try mid-rise or low-rise jeans to redress that balance.
4. The pockets on your pants can also make a difference. The smaller the pockets, the larger your buttocks will appear. If the pockets are placed more toward the hips, they will emphasize your hips.
5. If your waist is narrower than your hips, feel free to go up a size and have your jeans taken in at the waist by a tailor.
6. If you like to wear boxy, oversized tops, try straight leg jeans or possibly jeans that are fitted at the waist but flared at the bottom, to create balance in your look.
7. the other way around, If you like to wear fitted tops, try relaxed fit or wide leg jeans to bring more balance to your outfit.
